Through grant funding I have curated many community-driven art projects and events that celebrate diversity, foster connection, and inspire change through public art.
Projects
The Catch Basin Mural Project is a collaborative effort with Worcester Green Corps and the Department of Public Works, involved hiring eight local artists to create 15 vibrant murals around Worcester, MA. As the curator, I managed all aspects of the project to ensure its success and fostered a sense of community through this transformative public art initiative.
The Matheson Mural Project was a collaboration with a local property manager, brought art to lower-income housing by creating 15 elevator murals across three buildings. As the curator, I managed all aspects of the project, hiring four local artists, including myself, to bring this community-enhancing initiative to life.
The Creative Interlude series offers a variety of events designed to provide a refreshing break from daily life through creative activities. From "Art Oasis," which combines yoga and meditative art, to free paint-and-sip sessions and upcycled clothing workshops, these grant-funded events by the Worcester Arts Council encourage relaxation and artistic expression.
At the Plaza Sabados event, a monthly block party curated by El Salon, I host the Craft Corner series, where guests are invited to engage in free crafting activities. This interactive component is a highlight of the Creative Interlude series, offering a hands-on experience that fosters creativity and community engagement.
The Endangered Art Show, curated by me and held at the JMAC in Worcester, MA, showcased local artists who were challenged to create pieces using 90% recycled materials. This exhibition highlighted the creative potential of sustainable art while raising awareness about environmental issues.
